Begin Day 1 Lesson Plan:
Our objective today is to understand "Object-Oriented Thinking" for the purpose of computer programming.
The class plays the "Blindfold Game." A student volunteers to be the blindfolded person and selects a friend to assist them for safety purposes. The blindfolded person stands outside the door of the classroom while students place a variety of objects (provided by the teacher) at the front of the classroom. When the blindfolded person enters the room she/he will rely on hints from the other students to identify, and avoid colliding with, the various objects as they walk across to the opposite side of the room. (For example, students might warn the blindfolded student that there is an object that begins with the letter "c" that is located directly in front of their current path.
Students work in pairs to complete Vocabulary RWAT Sheet for Object-Oriented Thinking.
We are now going to work in pairs (with the person next to you) to complete our vocabulary sheet for today. Each student will complete the vocabulary sheet and submit it to the teacher.
