Tucson, Arizona

You might think that summer is not a particularly good time to visit Tucson. However, considering that the air is very dry, we are finding this attractive city to be a welcome escape from the current humidity in central North Carolina. We schedule our outdoor events for early morning and evening, while the middle of the day is best for indoor activities.

The photos shown above were taken in Tucson in June while walking the family dog, Lady (shown below). She deserves special credit for remaing very calm, even during the photographing of rabbits. The photos were taken using a Nikon D40 with 18-55mm lens.

The airfare was $300 on Southwest Airlines, flying non-stop from Raleigh to Phoenix. The drive from Phoenix to Tucson (Oro Valley) is approximately two hours, if you avoid rush hour.
