Google's Android versus iPhone!

Troy Brumley, writing in ComputerWorld.com, argues that the attractive-looking iPhone will remain in the driver's seat of the smartphone market. His point of view revolves more around hardware issues than software, since his focus is on the idea that customer design and attractiveness will always trump platform architecture. Using another hardware-oriented argument, he discusses the good reviews for Palm's Pre and its potential to be a genuine contender in the battle to topple iPhone supremacy. Commenters do a fine job of pointing out how Brumley did not address some of the underlying issues related to "software competition" and the potential Android offers for other smartphone manufacturers working to develop functional and popular new products.
